Implementation of the Ford PAS Web-based Curriculum Dr. Christal C. Pritchett SBEA Conference October 20, 2006
2
What is Web-based Learning? Web-based instruction is instructional programs using attributes and resources of the World Wide Web to create a meaningful learning and interactive environment (Khan, 1997).
3
What is Web-based Learning? Some researchers extend the definition to encompass Web-based learning in a constructivist and contextual learning environment (Relan & Gillani, 1997). Contextual learning is a method of instruction that enables students to apply new knowledge and skills to real life situations.
4
What is Web-based Learning? According to Berns (2004), contextual learning brings reality into the classroom, helps students find meaning in their lessons, connects the content of a class with a context, and motivates students through meaningful experiences.
