2 Fall Meeting of Legislative and Governors’ Staff 19 October 2012 First state-run virtual school: Florida Virtual School in 1997 State-run virtual schools peaked in SREB states in 2008 at 15 – All except Oklahoma* By 2012, 12 state-run virtual schools were still operating * University of Oklahoma High School (OUHS) was a virtual high school run state-wide and was available for all students.
