1 Michelin Tires - Boeing 737 NG -600,-700,-800,-900, -900ER

2 OE Sizes The Boeing 737 NG family uses the following OE approved tire sizes: The H44.5 radial tire fitment is being developed by Boeing on the 900ER. TBA*: As yet, there is no direction from Boeing on the retrofit of carbon brakes and radial tires on other 737 NG variants.

3 Approved Michelin Sizes
Michelin tires approved by Boeing for the 737 NG Retread Status: Tires currently supplied are retreaded (except , available in 2010) Retread of the H44.5x16.5R21/30/235 M19001 will be available approximately 24 months after entering service. Size under approval at Boeing: H44.5x16.5R21/30/235 M19001 The M19001 radial tire employs the latest NZG technology.

4 Tire Performance Estimation
LPT values: are shown as a guide only. are based on operational data from different sources. vary depending on the MTOW, operator and the operational base. With the Michelin radial H44.5x16.5R21/30/235 M19001, an increase in LPT of around 20 – 25% versus an equivalent bias can be expected.

5 737 NG Radialisation Advantage of Michelin radial tires:
Boeing is to offer a new carbon brakes package which will be compatible with radial tires. The ER will be the first model to be fitted with this package from new. Retrofit of carbon brakes and radial tires on other 737 NG variants is expected to be available with modifications to the aircraft, but there is no direction from Boeing at this time. H44.5x16.5R21/30/235 M19001 is under approval at Boeing. Approval of radial tires on 900ER is not expected before the end of 2009. Advantage of Michelin radial tires: Weight saving: (M19001 vs BS APS06030) 19.4 kg / 42.7 lb per tire (77.6 kg / lb per main ship set) compared to equivalent bias. Maintenance costs saving: On average, 6 fewer tire changes due to higher LPT performance Potential cost savings with Michelin radial tires on a 737 NG: Fuel savings due directly to the tire weight reduction: € 5 000 Reduced number of tire changes due to the higher LPT: € 3 000 The total potential cost saving is estimated at: € per aircraft per year*. * Assumptions: Average flight time: 2 hours Cycles per year: Tire change cost: €500 Jet fuel price / barrel: €80 Fuel burn rate: kg/h per kg LPT: radial 250, bias 210
