15 Concept of the Operations: Phase 1: This phase begins with the cCSM and both 1SG’s arriving prior to first formation so cCSM can lay out his gear and make sure 1SG’s are to standard. When PSG’s and PL’s arrive, the 1SG’s will check them. Phase 2: This phase begins when all cadets arrive. First Formation will be conducted, and PSG’s will put their platoon in open ranks. Cadets will begin to lay out their gear to standard with guidance from PSG’s and PL’s. Note, SL’s will have gear laid out first so that squad members know where to line up off of Phase 3: This phase begins When cadets have all their gear laid out to standard in front of them. PSG’s and PL’s will be checking to make sure their platoon has the item that is being called out by the 1SG. All cadets that do not have gear will have their name recorded and given either a negative spot report or a supply hour. Phase 4: Begins with the end of the PCI. Cadets will then Pack up their gear and get back into their squads. After PCI we will begin issuing MRE’s. Each cadet that is going will get 6 MRE”s. Phase 5: Begins with the conclusion or issuing MRE’s. Cadets will get back into Final Formation and then go home. Mission: JMU Duke Bn conducts FTX PCI and FTX INFIL rehearsal from 0530 to 0700 on 21March2014 IOT verify that the battalion is ready for FTX operations. Time Line: 0520 – 1SG’s and cCSM lay gear out to standard 0530 – SL’s have gear laid out then Cadets begin to lay out gear 0540 – Begin PCI 0625 – Pack up gear 0630 –Get issued MRE’s 0650 – Final Formation Bn FTX PCI N Coordinating Instructions: -Cadets will not use the back lot closest to Willow St, they will park in the main parking lot in front of the department. -S4 shop will be monitoring the issuing of MRE’s and will be excused from the main body PCI. Unless that MS4 missed the last PCI, then they have to find a replacement to issue MRE’s. OIC – cLTC Betourne NCOIC – cCSM Fida Alpha Bravo NO PARKING

20 US Army Cadet Command JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY Advanced Lab 13 March: Cordon and Search Sustains – Having cadets begin in a “fire base” Allowed for more rehearsal time and more effective team and squad rehearsals – 3 rd PL (cMunoz) Munoz acted as the 3PL, in charge of the “outer cordon”, allowed more cadets to participate on the actual OBJ, added another element to planning – Radios Allowed for more effective communication between PL, APL, and SLs Improves – Escalation of Force Was not used during several points on the OBJ, resulting in the death of a civillian. Cadets were reminded of the difference between the 5 S’s of Escalation of Force and the 5 S’s of handeling detainees – Opord flip Poor time management, PL and SLs were able to brief, but left no time for rehearsals

27 US Army Cadet Command JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY S-6 Cadet Lab Current status is GREEN (LABCON 3.0) SharePoint - Upload continuity to SharePoint, nothing has been added since I finished working on it. SharePoint will only be as good as we make it. Misc. News MS2’s and MS3’s have been notified of the openings in the S- 6 shop. The hunt continues.

28 US Army Cadet Command JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY S-6 Apprenticeship Program -Created in order to develop younger cadets to assist in the maintenance of our website and have an understanding of how to use SharePoint. -It is my goal to have the selected MS2 and MS3 to provide assistance to cadre in the future in order maintain these resources.

29 US Army Cadet Command JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY S-6 Website – Re Construction Breakdown Phase 1: - 1 Hour class - on the strategy of cascades, learning to migrate content. These can be signed up for via MyMadison. I believe only professors can access it. Phase 2: - 2 Hour class - that immerses users in the basics of Cascades. (How to enter content / edit content) Phase 3: Will consist of several consultations, working with the Webmaster of JMU; we’ll able migrate existing content if we would like.

30 US Army Cadet Command JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY S-6 Website – General information The cost of Cascades is covered by JMU. Our website will have to choose from several JMU templates; we will sacrifice freedom of design for easier use.
