Indiana’s Advanced Truck Stop Electrification Project First Advanced Truck stop Electrification project (ATE) in the Midwest Location, location, location… –Located in residential area –Directly off of I-80/94 and adjacent to another travel center –PM 2.5 monitor located only 2 blocks away typically measures highest concentrations in the state Reductions associated with the installation of 63 IdleAire units: –Assumptions: 63 ATE units are used 14.4 hours per day (60%), 365 days per year 10 metric tons of carbon monoxide (CO) 2,181 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) 43 metric tons of nitrogen oxides (NOx) 1.25 metric tons of particulate matter (PM) 2.5 metric tons of volatile organic compounds (VOC) Additionally the ATE technology will conserve a minimum of 331,100 gallons of fuel annually Operational by Fall of 2004

8. Why is a Workgroup Important? Membership can lead to Ownership Owners may include financial interests –Local business and industry –US EPA –RPO and/or State CMAQ panel members Collaborative efforts can lead to collaborative financing
