1.  We have been asked to show you how to use free and fee-based information from the internet that we rely on at LHA.  Investigations at the Lincoln Housing Authority have been an integral part of our efforts to determine eligibility as, I’m sure, your agency has been doing for years.  Reliance on the internet has streamlined the process from doing a lot of verifications by actually going to various offices where we needed to speak face-to-face with individuals to obtain necessary information to writing letters & waiting for the return of information via mail. In other words, we now let our fingers doing much of the walking.  Use of the internet has helped in the determination of eligibility on a daily basis.  Using the internet for searches has also expanded our capabilities as so much more information is readily available to us. We can connect things like never before.  As a result, we have been able to save time and money while increasing the number of completed investigations.  I’m sure you also have developed investigation processes and hope you will share them here with all of us today.

2.  Naturally we like free, reliable, information. We use the government websites because they are reliable. Some are fee- based while others offer free information.  We are going to give you a list of those websites we use regularly and hopefully walk you through some of them to identify those particularly helpful to us.  Google is your friend! We also use Google in a number of different ways. We will give you some ideas you may find helpful in your daily search for information.
