2  Research Institute of Child Psychology and Pathopsychology is direct organisation of Ministry of Education, operates on national level.  Combines research with best practise and methodical services delivered to all kinds of educational institutions in Slovakia – schools, counselling centres etc.  We cover all main topics considering child development, child education, and professional services for educational, psychological, career counselling.  One department is Methodical - Research Cabinet of Educational and Psychological Counselling and Prevention that specializes on training of professionals – teachers, counsellors

3  The institute publishes the journal Psychology and Pathopsychology of Child, which is the only one Slovak professional psychological journal.  The Information-Editing Center of VÚDPaP has a well- built scientific library that serves not only to research workers of our institute but also to external users - experts of affiliated professions, university teachers and students.  The Institute is in tight cooperation with facilities of psychological, educational and special-pedagogy counseling. The institute provides methodological and educational services, develops new psychodiagnostical tools.  The Research Institute for Child Psychology and Pathopsychology provides and guaranties study visits for students of Philosophical and Pedagogic Faculty of Comenius University, as are selective lectures and professional practicing. 5 EDUCATION FOR PROFFESIONALS  According to brand new law (from november 2009) there is set new credit education for proffesionals working in school area:  Updating education  Specialistic education  Inovative education

6 Foster tolerance in schools:  Develop long-term preventive and developing program for pupils (considering age, developmental level, typ of school and so on)  Implement program to education via etical or religious education  Prepare teachers to work with such a subject  Use activities of professionals services ( psychologist, prevention professionals and so on)  Cognitive and emotional level (role-playing) Foster tolerance
