2 What is OIT’s Broadband Role? OIT’s primary role with regards to statewide broadband collaboration is to educate and support broadband activities from a local, regional and state perspective to ensure Colorado has a coordinated and efficient broadband strategy.

3 OIT’s Broadband Efforts Broadband Mapping Coordination & Collaboration – Broadband Knights of the Roundtable – Collaboration Portal and Monthly Newsletter – Supporting and coordinating federal programs Planning – Local Technology Planning Team (LTPT) support – Initiation and expansion of regional planning Supporting Legislative Efforts Distance Learning Coordination State-Owned Broadband Asset Inventory FirstNet

4 CO Broadband Map BY THE NUMBERS ~4,400 unique visitors to the CO Broadband map this fiscal year 105 providers shared their data Over 9,500 speed tests received this fiscal year to help validate & drive greater accuracy Collecting broadband data from over 5,000 Community Anchor Institutions across the state http://maps.co.gov/coloradobroadband/

6 Supporting LTPT’s and Regional Planning All identified regions have held initial regional planning kick-off meetings

7 Working with local leaders to organize initial meetings – Identification and coordination of key stakeholders Supporting the development of statements of work and requests for proposals Supporting LTPT’s and Regional Planning

8 Coordinating Federal Opportunities Worked with local stakeholders on FCC IP- Transition Trials Working with USDA to understand specific programs Currently working with Bureau of Reclamation to identify possible tower colocations
