11. Read the following passage from Lord of the Flies. Is Jack experiencing internal or external conflict? “The silence continued, breathless and heavy and full of shame. Slowly the red drained from Jack’s cheeks, then came back with a painful rush. He licked his lips and turned his head at an angle, so that his gaze avoided the embarrassment of linking with another’s eye.” (Golding 127)

12. Identifying Conflict With your group you will find examples of conflict within Lord of the Flies. You should find 3 examples for each type of conflict listed on your chart. Each person in your group should write on their own chart. Make sure to include the text, page number and an explanation.
