Borrowing:  When subtracting fractions, if the numerator in the first fraction is smaller than the second fraction’s numerator, you will have to borrow.  When borrowing you have to take one away from the whole number. Then you will add the same amount in the denominator to the numerator.  Then you may subtract normally. For Example: 9 1 5 - 4 3 4______ 8 - 3 2 5___
