2 Your individual Ricoh print settings are initially established by your print driver’s network settings as established by a network administrator. When you first install your Ricoh printer and then print any job from your Windows PC, the resulting document should render in B&W. If this is not the case, please follow instructions in this tutorial to manually establish and save your default settings so that you will not produce unwanted color images in the future. Bear in mind that you can always select “color” as an option, after your B&W default is established, by accessing your Ricoh’s color settings in the print dialog box of any program. But please be aware that if you change your settings and print in color, the program you are using will “remember” your settings and continue to print color until you have either changed the settings back … or quit and restarted the program. If you print from a Mac, it is also possible to establish a B&W default print setting. Watch our site for a separate tutorial related to that subject. The following screens show you how to set your printer’s default to B&W at the system level so that any program will render B&W images without having to make changes every time you print.

3 If you are a Windows user in Education … or supported by ETS please read the following (otherwise skip to next screen): If your printer settings vary from the screen pictures in this tutorial you probably have a different driver installed. Please contact ETS for help related to your defaults.
