2 Mission of the Library  The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.

14 How to Reserve the LMC  Advance notice  Beginning of each term  Indicate sources needed  Prior access to Atriuum

15 Requesting Materials  List subjects needed for research  Place on a reserve cart for your students to access

16 Student Supervision  YOUR responsibility  Monitor computer activity

17 Computer Sign-In List  Have students complete the computer sign-in to keep track of what is being searched  YOUR responsibility

18 Approve Printing Jobs  Black/white printing is free  Color prints are 50 cents per page  Copy/paste into Word  YOU MUST APPROVE ALL STUDENT PRINTING

19 Copies  Use your number for your own copies  Students are charged 15 cents per copy or 2 for 25 cents

20 Videos  Teachers/Staff only  Enhance lesson plans  Substitutes can not check out videos

21 Book Bags & Backpacks  Students are not allowed to wear/bring book bags & backpacks into the library.

22 Respect Other Patrons  Please, no loud conversations  Limit copying when other classes are in the library.

23 Library Passes  Use passes that were handed out at the beginning of the year  One student per pass

24 Alabama Virtual Library  No password needed in media center  www.avl.lib.us.al.u s www.avl.lib.us.al.u s  Home Access available

25 United Streaming  www.unitedstreami ng.com www.unitedstreami ng.com  Videos  Video clips  Movies  Relate to lesson plans

26 Recycling  Used ink cartridges  Old cell phones  Eligible for a cash drawing $$$$$

27 Laminating  Mondays and Thursdays only  8:00 am until noon

28 Teacher Book Swap  Bring in your old books and trade for a new one.  The more you read, the more you know!

29 Final Reminders Reserve the library in advance. Let the librarians know if you need any materials on reserve. Supervise your students. Complete the computer sign-in list. Approve printing jobs. Book bags not allowed. Show respect for other patrons. Use the library passes.
