2 Introduction EDF Energy Organisational Learning Fleet Manager: -Corrective Action Programme -Operating Experience -Self Assessment -Benchmarking 2WNA Symposium 2013 NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED Before WNU saw Organisational Learning as an “uninspiring, administrative necessity, rather than as an exciting career option” The WNU changed me and I’d like to share my experience with you!

3 World Nuclear University Six week leadership course, with the purpose: “to provide a unique educational experience aimed at building future global leadership in the fields of nuclear science and technology”

4 Format Delivered through: lectures, tutorials, field trips and team projects Topics covering: nuclear fuel cycle (mining, operation and decommissioning), innovation & research, global environmental issues, world politics & diplomacy etc Organised by: IAEA, OECD/NEA, WANO, WNA Aimed at: nuclear professionals from 27 to 37 years old Since 2005: 650 fellow from over 65 countries

6 My experience prior to WNU Worked for British Energy (now EDF energy) since 2001 Environmental jobs, e.g. reducing waste, managing radioactive discharges etc. Worked at power station and central offices In 2010 I was at a turning point……..

11 Impact on my career It was the combination of: -Realising that nuclear is truly global, sharing the same challenges and solutions -Recognition that nuclear is unique in sharing information with its competitors -Inspiring lectures and challenges for the next generation That led me to apply and get the role of Organisational Learning Fleet Manager
