Introduction Email Server  Electronic Mail Server, often abbreviated as email server or e- mail server, is a computer within the network which provides the facilities of a post office to its users. Email servers accept, forward, deliver and store messages.  It allows sender to send mail to one or more receivers within a matter of seconds.  Initially the network-based email transmission used the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), but today it is governed by the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).  E-mail systems are primarily based on a store-and-forward model, which enables the computer server to accept, forward, deliver and store messages.
