7 The Road to Graduation  COURSE CREDITS - Grades 10, 11 and 12!  Minimum Total: 80 credits:  48 required-course credits  28 or more elective credits  16 of these credits must be earned at the Grade 12 level  4 credits – Grad Transition Standards Recommended Total: Minimum 88 credits

M.A.P. encourages students to:  take ownership of their own learning and health  examine and demonstrate connections between their learning and their future  create a plan for their growth and development as skilled, healthy, knowledgeable, participating citizens  exhibit attributes of a School District No. 23 learner

12 Work Experience 12 Students can earn 4 course credits by completing 100 hours of work/volunteer experience during their grade 12 year *this includes the summer prior to grade 12 Other Important Information

18 Post-Secondary Institution Selections for Students This online form should be completed by Grade 12 students who expect to graduate this school year and are applying or considering applying, to a Post-Secondary Institute for September 2016 admission. Students login to the BC Ministry of Education Student Secure Web: https://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/tsw/tsw/student/welcome.jsp Note: students who do not yet have a SSW account will need to create one prior using the above address.

24 GRADUATION INFORMATION Non-Sanctioned Grad Events

25 DRY GRAD Dry Grad is a parent/guardian driven event designed to give students an alcohol free alternative celebration. This is not a school related event. A Chairperson to head the committee. A number of parent/guardian volunteers have already stepped forward to assist. If you are able to assume the Chair position or would like to assist with this event, please contact: heidi.mclachlan@sd23.bc.ca Visit the Graduation Section on our website

26 GRADUATION INFORMATION Graduation Fees  $75 Ceremony only  $160 Banquet and Ceremony Deadline: Feb 2 nd On-line payment available Any student with financial concerns needs to see their administrator as soon as possible Visit the Graduation Section on our website

27 GRADUATION INFORMATION Graduation Fees continued… To participate in the banquet and ceremony, students must meet four important criteria: 1.Be in an academic position to graduate 2.Have completed their MAP requirements 3.Have cleared all financial obligations with the school 4.Be in good standing with the school Visit the Graduation Section on our website

28 Graduation Photos for ordering Lifetouch Photography will be here for Graduation Photo sittings November 12 th – 20 th, 2015 (excluding the weekend) Photo appointments will be made online this year at www.lifetouch.ca/bcsoutherninterior A link to the appointments site for the school will go live October 23 rd. 29 PARENT PARTNERSHIP Every Day Counts!  Attendance is key to success  A semester course contains 100 hours of class time  A class = 2 hours and 20 minutes  This means an absence = more than 2% of the course hours! We ask for your continued support of helping students achieve success!
