2.  Radical Phase  One of the bloodiest regimes.  Leaders wanted to extend the Revolution.  The French were being destroyed by Prussians.  Parisians believed that the King was a traitor.  Parisians storm the palace and royal family flees(1792).  Citizens attack prisons and kill 1,200 prisoners.

3.  Radicals Take Control  Radicals take control of the Assembly.  Suffrage is extended to all men.  Radicals wants to abolish monarchy.  Jacobins controls the convention of abolishing the monarchy.  King Louis XVI on trial for being a “traitor”.  King Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette executed(1793).
