11 Poll: Porn-watching, net-savvy kids are a myth Cyberbullying grief highlighted instead Parents who think their tearaway hacking kiddies are seeing all sorts of things they shouldn't online are buying into some of the top myths about children on the web, according to a new report. EU Kids Online, a research project based at the London School of Economics and Political Science, talked to kids across Europe about their online habits and discovered that they are both more and less clued up than their parents reckon. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/09/28/myths_about_children_online/

13 How parents can help… Talk to your children about their use of ICT. Get involved - perhaps create own PSN / Facebook account.

17 How parents can help… Reminder to (especially younger) children - don't publish personal info online, don't trust anyone online not known in real life.

26 Announcements Keeps students “in the loop.” Electronic noticeboard. Also available as RSS feed.

27 To-do List Lists all tasks assigned to students. Can hand in work from here. Can collect feedback from here. Shows hand-in status.

28 Eportfolio Online file storage area. Available on-site and off- site. Can create notes, web pages etc. Also – separate “school drives” section. Allows access to school network.

29 School Departments Where subjects store their files. Includes interactive materials. Students can access this without being assigned a related task.

30 Social Networking Similar features to sites like Facebook… But safe and monitored. Available to ALL users (including parents.)
