2 Project Overview This week, second graders will meet with the 5 th graders to choose the present community leaders to portray in the video. Filming will take place at Columbus East High School on October 28 th and October 31 st. Students will find out their role in the video on October 24 th.

Monday 1.Open your reading text to page 113 and discuss the Talk About It Question “Why do you think many people move to America?” 2.Then read, “My New Home” to learn your new vocabulary words on pages 114 and 115. 2. Tuesday 1.Read the story, “My Name is Yoon” together as a group. Discuss the vocabulary as you read. Identify the characters, setting, and main idea. 3. 4 Writing “Leadership PowerPoint” Noise Level 1 1.This week you will finish your PowerPoint on your leader for the 5 th graders to check. 2.Be sure you PowerPoint includes details about how your leader shows leadership in our community and why they should be included in the video for Camp Atterbury on Veteran’s Day. 3.Be sure you PowerPoint has complete sentences, correct grammar, details, color, and pictures! 4.Your presentation is on Wednesday to the 5 th Graders! 5 Self-Selected Reading / Accelerated Reader Noise Level 0 1.Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. 2.Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. 3.Silently read. 4.After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. 5.Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. 6.If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test. 7.Record your AR score in your Data Binder..
