2 Introduction In this lesson we will consider the following A. Some of the attributes of David B. Similarities between David’s attitudes and the attitudes of Christ C. Encourage all of us to share these attitudes that we too may be “People after God’s own heart”

3 David Loved the Word of God (Ps 119:97) Ps 119:165 Peace of Mind

4 Jesus Loved the Word of God

5 Is His Word hidden in our hearts? Is His Word a source of peace? Is His Word a comfort in times of affliction?

6 David Loved to Pray Based on the fact God had Blessed him before Based on the fact God Had greatly blessed him Based on the fact prayer Brought him closer to God

7 Jesus was a man of Prayer Lk 5:16 He would slip away to pray alone

8 Have we found the peace that passes understanding? Pray without ceasing 1 Thes 5:17

9 David Hated Every False Way Psalm 101:3- 4 Psalm 101:6-7 His hatred based upon his understanding of God’s precepts His hatred affected his selection of activities His hatred affected his selection of friends

10 Jesus hated Every False Way Mt 21:12- 13 As shown in His driving the moneychangers out of the temple Mt 23:13-36 As shown in His denunciation of the hypocritical Pharisees, scribes, and lawyers

11 2 Jn 1:7- 11 Are We soft and compromising? Do we realize we are in a spiritual battle for the souls of me?

12 Conclusion: Mt. 7:21
