Review 1 Make a small circle of friends and in your circle discuss whether you think you met the learning objectives for this lesson As a class As an individual If you have time, write a good news message on a post it to someone in your group about their participation in the lesson e.g. “ You showed resourcefulness” “You answered a question well”

Review 2 Write two identical lists of facts about this topic and put them on scraps of paper, turn them over so you can’t see them, muddle them up, and play a game of pairs with a friend. You could keep the bits of paper for connecting the learning next lesson

Review 3 Draw a flow chart showing what happened in this lesson and in the last box write what you learnt e.g.

Review 4 Draw this idea to review this lesson.

Review 5 Make a simple mind map of this topic. This may take you a few lessons but you could add to it during connect the learning and during review time. You may be able to use ICT if available.

Review 6 Use this shape to write some thoughts down about this lesson.

Review 7 How does this topic make you feel? Angry? Amused? Sad? Use a space like this to record your feelings and intuitions.

Review 8 Discuss with a partner how the ideas in your lessons could be applied to a real life situation or could be used to help people. “If criminal courts used eye witness testimonies more carefully less innocent people would go to jail”

Review 9 Discuss with a couple of friends what you liked and disliked about last lesson and give your feedback to your teacher when you leave today. We liked………. because We didn’t like……………………………because

Review 10 Choose an image, which you think, is appropriate for this topic and when you have drawn it or printed it off annotate it with key ideas from this lesson. Family types Nuclear

Review 11 Play verbal tennis with a partner (or you could play doubles!) Each of you make a (mental) list of key words for this topic. One person serves a word and the other has to return one. You score a point if the other person gets stuck. No repeats!

Review 12 On each fingertip write a letter, which stands for a key idea in this topic. Hide them from yourself and then reveal them one at a time and try to remember what it stood for. A A stands for ?

Review 13 Use a timer and get a friend to summarise the last lesson in a certain time agreed by you both. You could make the time shorter and shorter!

Review 14 In a small group, using coloured board pens or post it notes summarise what you know about this topic on the big white board.

Review 15 Draw a graph to show how this session has gone today. Explain your graph.

Review 16 In a group make a list of questions you would like to ask the teacher about this topic/subject and give them to your teacher at the end of the lesson. Examples What would happen if……. Where can we get more information on……. How will this come up in the exam? Why are we learning this? Who thought of this idea? How can this be useful?

Review 17 Use these interlocking circles to look for links between two things you have studied e.g. differences.

Review 18 Use these interlocking circles to look for links between two things you have studied e.g similarities.

Review 19 Use your (critical) thinking hat to analyse the things you have learnt e.g. problems, criticisms or limitations.

Review 20 Write a news report for this lesson. “Earlier today students were surprised to find that……..” “ When interviewed ……..said……….”

Review 21 Swap notes, folders or exercise books with a friend and use this time to go through their work for them. Write them a note and give them some feedback on three things 1. What their work looks like i.e. is it neat, well organised, got titles, dates, graphs have explanations etc 2. Whether you think they have missing work i.e. whole lessons or bits of lessons 3. Have they understood and recorded the main point of today’s lesson

Review 22 Teacher Mastermind In a group devise some careful and searching questions about the lesson you have just had and put your teacher in the hot seat.
