2. Take out your editing marks sheet Check MLA formatting Does it have all three parts: intro, body, conclusion? Are all paragraphs 5-8 sentences? If not, write “elaborate” next to those that are too short

3. Underline the thesis twice Underline the preview once – is it in parallel form? Underline all topic sentences

4. Read over your paper and mark any –Awkward wording (awk) –Sentences that don’t make sense (?) –Fragments (frag) –Run-ons (RO)

5. SWITCH PAPERS

6. Put your name on that student’s paper Read over the paper and mark any –Awkward wording (awk) –Sentences that don’t make sense (?) –Fragments (frag) –Run-ons (RO) Make helpful comments

7. RETURN PAPER TO THE AUTHOR & DISCUSS WHAT YOU NOTICED

8. Look at the rubric Check for every checkbox in the rubric – if something is missing write a note to yourself on your paper to add it for the final draft

9. Staple your outline to your rough draft and turn it in
