9 HyRaMPs FC Vehicle Demo Project Involvement HyRaMP is already involved in several projects of the EU Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU), as partner /co- financer … H2 moves Scandinavia (FC passenger cars) HyRaMP facilitates European road shows across several European regions (dissemination through local events). CHIC (FC hybrid buses) HyRaMP coordinates general and targeted dissemination in 19 regions in Europe. 3 rd FCH JU Call (2010 under negotiation) HyRaMP is a dissemination partner in two fuel cell vehicles demo projects: one for buses and one for taxies. … to support a long-term approach for commercialisation and to motivate local decision makers with concrete project results. 1st Call 2nd Call 3rd Call 9Conference on Future Transport Fuels – Brussels, April 13, 2011

17 EU: Enlarge scope of HyRaMP to electro mobility (DG MOVE/DG ENTR) EU Clean and Energy Efficient Vehicle Strategy indicates EC commitment to work with MS and regional / local governments on electric infrastructure development. Collaboration with EC towards pathway to involve regional authorities. Procedure: January 2011: Concept paper sent to over 70 regions February 16, 2011: Concept paper was finalized in a workshop March 16, 2011: HyRaMP Board announced enlargement of HyRaMP activities HyRaMPs Way to Hy(E)RaMP 17Conference on Future Transport Fuels – Brussels, April 13, 2011

18 February 16, 2011: Concept paper was finalized in a workshop; Conclusions are 1.General agreement on the way forward and the scope of a broadened HyRAMP. 2.Agreement on Concept Paper for Hy(E)RaMP (working title) based on HyRaMP statutes and work plans. 3.HyRaMP will proceed with formal requirements to broaden the scope of the organisation; a proposal to adapt the statutes, name change as well as new Board structure will be presented at the General Assembly in October. 4.During transition phase current board members will also take action on recharging infrastructure, vehicle deployment and other relevant topics. 5.Secretariat and Board members have already taken action on strategy development and data surveys among Hy(E)RaMP current and potential new members. HyRaMPs Way to Hy(E)RaMP 18Conference on Future Transport Fuels – Brussels, April 13, 2011

19 March 16, 2011: HyRaMP Board announced enlargement of HyRaMP Activities; Actvities are 1.Electromobility and the required recharging and hydrogen infrastructure and its impact on local energy systems, especially with regards to renewable sources. 2.Stationary fuel cell systems. 3.Grid efficiency including storage, grid management, e.g. smart grids. 4.Special/early market applications as UPS power, materials handling. 20 Regions role in Electro Mobility Deployment as… Planning and transport authorities influencing urban and regional development and infrastructure decisions at local level (i.e. general city planning, environmental zones, congestion charge etc). Purchasers and pilot customers of vehicles as early adopters (i.e. procurement of public fleets) in order to support demand and market viability of vehicles and infrastructure. Enabler to integrate electric infrastructure into local energy planning decisions as part of wider energy security concepts. Promotors of public awareness by using advanced technology within daily business and positioning local authorities as technology/ innovation providers. 20Conference on Future Transport Fuels – Brussels, April 13, 2011
