2 Anthropology Events Coming up In the past, execs ran the events, members will be taking part with event planning Anthropology society is doing cultural events with the either clubs for cultural awareness January, murder mystery social event Facebook Group: UWO anthropology society [2011/12] movie nights are planned regularly throughout the year

3 American Studies American Studies Club:  Using the PSA as a conduit to help raise awareness of American Studies to students in other departments. The next event planned is a speaker event. The CAS is pleased to welcome Melissa Haussman,  Department of Political Science, Carleton University, as its second guest of the 2011-12 Speakers' Series.  Dr. Haussman's lecture "Glass Ceilings, Being 'Likeable Enough', and Hosting Tea Parties: Prospects for Women in U.S. National Politics" will take place Thursday, October 20, 4:30pm, SSC 5220.Glass Ceilings, Being 'Likeable Enough', and Hosting Tea Parties: Prospects for Women in U.S. National Politics  Everyone welcome.

4 Economics Economics Students' Association ---> JOIN NOW! Tell your frosh, tell your friends if they are in Social Science and Economics.  This club looks good for your AEO and Ivey application. Also for students that are wishing to get further involved  There is an application (once they sign up with the club) to become an economics analyst. This would allow them to put their two cents into what's happening in the economy and get their article published in the Economic Outlook at the same time.

6 Geography 1) Wednesday, October 12  5:30pm in NCB114  Dr. Justin Hines of the field research organization Operation Wallacea will be giving a presentation about opportunities available for students next summer.  Choice of location:  Cloud forests and coral reefs of Honduras,  The lush tropical rainforest and immense coral reefs of Indonesia  The rivers and estuaries of the Peruvian Amazon  The bush of northeastern South Africa  The desert & coral reefs of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt and the coral reefs of Cuba. For 2012, we are very excited to announce our new project in Mexico! 2) GSA Pizza and Prof!!!  Wednesday October 26 SSC 3036 5:00-7:00 Come out and meet some geo profs! Everyone is welcome and free pizza!! Woo!!

7 History HISTORY SOCIETY EVENTS: History Society AGM:  Last Wednesday:  It went really well and we raised over $200 to support our club trip. Our next book auction's proceeds will be donated to CHF. UPCOMING TRIP: Going to the Oil Museum of Canada and Uncle Tom's Cabin Replica Site: OCTOBER 14 TH  **All departments welcome...5 professors will be coming with us!

8 MOS MOS DEP REP! MOSSA AGM Monday was a success Prof-Student Social Oct. 20th 5-7 PM @ The Wave, free for members, $5 for non-members Planning out the Alumni Networking Event for Nov. 15th, with Aubrey DAN in the house! 10 Psychology The WPA had its first general meeting on September 27 th, and is in the process of picking a first year representative. More to come

12 Women’s Studies WSFR first department meeting will be October 5, 2011 at 6:30 in University College room 287  The department will soon be holding our upcoming elections for the 2011-2012 school year. We have a few positions available still.
