12 Evolutionary Relationships These relationships are based are based on 5 characteristics that provide clues about how species evolved: 1. Structural similarities 2. Breeding behavior 3. Geographical distribution 4. Chromosome comparisons 5. Biochemistry

13 Kingdom Eubacteria: contains unicellular prokaryotes

14 Kingdom Archaebacteria: contains unicellular prokaryotes, like extreme environments

15 Kingdom Protista: eukaryotes that lack complex organ systems

16 Kingdom Fungi: heterotrophic eukaryotes that absorb nutrients

17 Kingdom Plantae: multicellular eukaryotes that are photosynthetic

18 Kingdom Animalia: multicellular, eukaryotic heterotrophs with cells that lack cell walls.
