Successful completion of Proof of Concept project Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Fund

14 Hydraulics & Maritime Research Centre hmrc.ucc.ie National Ocean Test Facility Development of a Novel Floating OWC Device Principle Investigator: Dr. Wanan Sheng (W.Sheng@ucc.ie) Project Objective: A Novel floating OWC device which will improve wave energy capture, and wave energy extraction over a large wave period over existing OWC devices, with easy assess for M&O, and good mooring/cabling connections Stage 1: Concept Validation (Completed) Numerical simulation Model test in wave tank. Stage 2: Optimisation Numerical simulation (Completed) Model manufactured for testing in wave tank (Soon) Stage 3: Large Scale Model Large model test (via Marinet FP7 project) Performance assessment Economic assessment.
