3. 1) Do you feel Cincinnati does well fighting crime? In Oakland, a program exists in which homicides dropped about 20% from 2007-2008 and gang affiliation reduced about 38% in first six months. This is a program we might be able to bring to Cincinnati. 2) Do you think Cincinnati will lay off then rehire police officers like Oakland did? Oakland wanted police officers who had been laid off to come back to work again. Cincinnati doesn’t want to lay off police officers, because they need protection from crime.

4. Research 1. Agencies create more tactical response and crime prevention strategies to make communities safe. 2. Law enforcement agencies use ShotSpotter Gunshot Location System to inform them of gun crime by firearms and violent crime alerts. 3.They have seen a dramatic difference in our areas by ShotSpotter’s system. 4.Police Department studied the feasibility of implementing ShotSpotter to target gun violence. 5.They don’t use word “gang” as issue of behavior.

5. 6.Police like to tell that trusted people in the community who know this gang to convince felons to put down guns. 7. Governor slashed spending funds - loss of 159 staff jobs. 8. Police Superintendant said that they don’t want to toss a gang in jail because they have gang groups from different places. 9. The gang isn’t making any money, just playing the violence game. It means they think killing is like their toys. 10. Because Oakland has not had police academies since 2008, police force has declined and they are using retirement rates to save money.

6. 11. The city needs neighborhood police officers back on the job because they need more police officers to stop crime. 12. Oakland wanted to copy Chicago’s Ceasefire model, because it provides youth with alternatives to gang behavior as well as increase awareness about dangers of youth violence. 13. Most men are hard-core gang members. This means they are not scared of police and easily beat small groups. 14. They hope that gangs will listen to officers who say, “We care about you, and we care about your community.” 15. Officer Contreras hopes that Ceasefire will bring a new focus to solve its escalating gang murder counts.

7. Collaboration Police officers want to keep reducing crime instances. People are more likely to be at risk of criminal involvement if these officers didn’t work on reducing crime. Ceasefire has proven to be a more effective crime-reducing program than other programs. One of the experts says that they understand police officer efforts to catch criminals, but they are not easy to catch. Another expert says that he is happy when they set Hot Spots, technology that has made catching criminals faster than calling 911.

8. My Plan ShotSpotter is very good program for stopping crime, because ShotSpotter set up technology to find crimes and to catch sounds of gunfire that can hear easily. Cincinnati should get ShotSpotter because I think ShotSpotter can make our community better than ever before. I want people “to feel free and feel that no crime here.”

As a result of the ShotSpotter system, New York has had arrests and recoveries of weapons; there have even been some instances where they were able to get medical attention to victims before a 911 call had been received by NCPD Communications Bureau from Nassau County. ShotSpotter has helped to reduce crime, and Cincinnati could use this program too. Legislator Cooper's bill gave the Suffolk County Police Department 60 days to study the feasibility of implementing ShotSpotter and to determine which communities would most benefit from this proprietary acoustic surveillance technology system.

10. First responders and law enforcement agencies around the world are actively utilizing the ShotSpotter Gunshot Location System to give them an edge on gun crime by having otherwise unavailable firearms, violent crime alerts, and activity data. Gun seizures in the target area rose by 60%, and gun crimes dropped by 49%.

11. My Plan 1) What group of people are you helping? Ceasefire stop murder in Mt. Airy. 2) How many clients will be included? About 20 clients to work together how to stop murder. 3) What is this program trying to accomplish? Where will your program focus upon? They like to tell police officers about crime and make technology system that can stop murder easily in Mt. Airy. 4) How many people will I need to employ and in what positions? I need to employ 100 people in police officers

12. 5) What other resources do I need? (Buildings, land, supplies, security, etc.) I need other resources are Law enforcement, Police Department, and Private Investigation. 6) What are my costs and for how long? (Salaries, rents, services, supplies etc.) $250,000 is important for our crime fighting efforts for annually. 7) Where does this funding come from? This funding come from ShotSpotter System & Federal government. 8) What am I calling this program? I am calling this program Crime Investigation.

13. Counter-arguments: Some people say that Ceasefire, and other programs intended stop crime, will not succeed or can’t stop all murder. Others don’t think these programs can make better technology to stop murder easily.

14. I would say that Ceasefire is working on stopping crime, and they will make technology that can hear sounds of gunfire and set hotspots that can stop murder. They are working to stop all murder to the best of their ability.

15. Closing: I hope you believe these programs and my responses are true, because police officers want our communities to stay safe and have no crime. It is their goal. Whether you do believe or not, police officers and Ceasefire are working on stopping crime and they are never giving up their work. They want no violation or crime in our community, only then they will stop working on crime. Thank you for listening to my presentation and hope you liked it and believe in it.
