L.Hermitage 2015 The scenario… A group of strangers were travelling across the ocean together in a boat. Each of them had a bag packed with everything they needed to continue their normal job/life in a new country.

L.Hermitage 2015 The passengers… The captain A doctor An 8 year old girl A comedian A counsellor An inventor A teacher

L.Hermitage 2015 Task 1 – What’s in the bag? Each of the passengers had a bag with them. The passengers had packed things which would help them to carry on their normal job in another country. For each passenger, decide on two useful things they would have in their bag. For example – The doctor might have anaesthetic and bandages. Click to start timer

L.Hermitage 2015 Task 2 – Who should be rescued? It will take 7 weeks to rescue everyone. The passengers will have to wait their turn, and help each other survive. Look at the list of passengers. Who deserves to be rescued first? Come up with two reasons Click to start timer

L.Hermitage 2015 What next? The fisherman rescued the first person – but it was not as easy as he thought… That was difficult – I nearly broke my boat! I can only pick up three more people - One person per week But there are six of us left… Then the three people left will be left to die…I’m soo sorry…

L.Hermitage 2015 Task 3 – Who lives and who dies? There are six people left on the boat. 3 of them will be rescued, but 3 of them will be left to die. They still need to help each other survive over the next few weeks. 1. Which 3 people should be rescued? Why? 2. Is there anyone who needs to stay on the boat to help? Click to start timer
