Galapagos Tortoise By Daniel Ontaneda Navas

Introduction The Galapagos tortoise is the largest living reptile. Read more about the Galapagos tortoise in my report.

Food The tortoise looks like it can eat animals well it doesn't. It eats grass, plants and cactus. That means they are herbivores.

Habitats The tortoise does not have very many habitats. Its habitats are Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) in the Pacific Ocean, and in the rain forest. They live alone.

Body characteristics The tortoise has a lot of body characteristics. The Galapagos tortoise is the biggest tortoise of all. When it is a baby it is 3 inches long the size of a tennis ball. When it is an adult it is 6 feet long and 600 pounds. They have a high dome shaped shell. It has stumpy legs and toes. Their body is brown and gray.

Interesting facts The tortoise does not have that many interesting facts. The tortoise has no animal predators but their predators are humans. They hunt and capture them. The tortoise lives up to 100 years. There are fewer then 15,000 living on earth. The tortoise is slow it only walks 0.2 miles per hour.

Conclusion I hope you liked my report of the Galapagos tortoise. I hope to see one when I go to Ecuador.
