CINDAS!! CINDAS Background: For 45 years, the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) at Purdue University has managed a comprehensive and systematic research program on the properties and behavior of materials. Nature of Data: CINDAS’s critically evaluated materials properties databases for thermal, mechanical, electrical, physical and other properties of various materials (e.g., metallic alloys, ceramics-oxides, composites-laminates). Scope of Content: 5,750+ materials and 65,000+ data curves.

What kind of product is it? CINDAS Databases are a software solution to visualize the properties of selected materials under varying conditions. What are the most important benefits it offers? Provides critically evaluated data in an interactive environment allowing the user to manipulate parameters and variables in order to assess the suitability and performance of a particular material. The ability to compare several materials simultaneously is a major benefit. Ability to plot multiple materials and properties Ability to manipulate ranges and parameters

TPMD: Thermophysical Properties of Matter Database Contains thermophysical properties of over 5,000 materials with approximately 50,000 data curves. Dynamic graphing capabilities allow users to compare the same property of multiple materials and change parameters to maximize findings. Searchable by material group, material or property For all data curves, the material composition, experimental conditions, raw or smoothed data, and references are given.

TPMD Major Material Groups Major Material Groups: – Metallic elements – Metallic alloys – Non-metallic liquids – Non-metallic solids – Gases – Coatings

TPMD Properties Thermophysical Properties: thermal expansion thermal conductivity specific heat thermal diffusivity thermal radiative properties – spectral and total emittance – spectral reflectance – spectral transmittance – spectral and solar absorbance thermal conductivity specific heat and viscosity

MPMD - Microelectronics Packaging Materials Database Contains data on thermal, mechanical, electrical and physical properties of electronics packaging materials (solid-state technology). Provides properties of over 750 materials and contains over 15,000 data curves. It was developed under the sponsorship of the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC). The results of the multi-million dollar research program were originally available only to SRC members. Now they are available to engineers and scientists worldwide.

MPMD – Major Materials Groups Adhesives Ceramics-Oxides Silicides Coatings Epoxies Laminates Encapsulants Intermetallics Metal Alloys Molding Polymers Polyimides Semiconductors Solders – Leaded Solders – Lead Free

MPMD - Major Properties Mechanical – Creep – Fatigue – Hardness – Modulus – Strength – Stress Electrical – Dielectric – Constant – Dissipation – Resistivity Thermophysical – Density – Specific Heat – Thermal Conductivity – Thermal Diffusivity – Thermal Expansion – Radiative – Viscosity
