Memorial Rose Garden/ Jardin de Rosas Memoriales Students plant roses in memory of someone special who has passed away. Plans are to make an everlasting plaque with the names of the people on it.

Butterfly Garden/ Jardin de las Mariposas Students plant a garden that feeds both the butterflies and their caterpillars.

Native and Drought Tolerant Garden/ Jardin de Plantas Nativas Students plant a garden that uses beautiful native and drought tolerant plants to educate families about how to conserve water in their yards.

FMS Mini Orchard/ La Huerta Students plant several citrus and other fruit trees to build pride and appreciation for our locally grown fruit. Students learn the value of eating fresh fruit as a part of our Healthy Heart program.

FMS Herb and Salsa Garden/ Jardin de Salsa Students plant all the ingredients necessary to make salsa. Herbs, garlic, onions, tomatoes, and chilies will be sold for profit. #1 Salsa competitions will be held each year. Part of our Healthy Heart program.

FMS Mini Pumpkin Patch/ Jardin de Calavasas Students plant pumpkins, squash, Indian corn, and gourds to emphasize genetic variety and mutations. A Giant Pumpkin and Pumpkin Recipes contests will take place in the Fall. Part of our Healthy Heart program.

Winter Garden/ Jardin del Invierno Students plant a pine tree and holly. Holly will be sold to raise money for plants and supplies for the garden.

Cut Flowers Garden/ Jardin de Flores Students plant a garden of spring bulbs, spring cut flowers, and greenery. Students learn to make and sell flower arrangements and compete in our local Fillmore Garden Show that takes place in April.

FMS Peace Meadow/ Jardin de Paz Students plant a meadow with a no mow lawn and wildflowers that can be used as a peaceful place to resolve conflicts and offer peace to students who need it. A pole inscribed with peace in many languages will be added to the garden in time.

Knowledge and Donations Accepted For Fillmore Middle School Please offer us suggestions to improve and add beauty to our gardens. Donations of plants, tools, soil, fertilizers, seeds, cuttings, bulbs, heart healthy recipes, businesses from the garden ideas. vases, trees, plaques, brick work, lumber for raised beds, beneficial insects, a bird bath, and/or your time would be greatly appreciated.
