Holocaust is literally defined as: “a sacrifice consumed by fire”  But most would define it as:  the mass slaughter of European civilians, especially Jews, by the Nazis during World War II  Lasted from 1933-1945  Anti-Semitism  Hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group.
