What is a Moneran?
Bacteria and Cyanobacteria
They are unicellular and prokaryotes (no nucleus)
Small, but bigger than viruses (300 across a period!)

Bacillus – Rod shaped bacteria
Large Cocci – Sphere shaped bacteria

Cyanobacteria – Blue Green Algae
An algal bloom
BACTERIA – both good and bad

5. Quick look at Cyanobacteria
A.K.A – Blue green algae
Contains Chlorophyll (photosynthesis)
Reproduces quickly – nuisance to pool owners; pond scum
Prokaryotic

6. Where can bacteria live?
They are located on your hands, eyelashes, and the bottom of your shoe.
Found on plants, animals, and inside plants and animals
Can live in freezing cold temperatures or in boiling temperatures in extreme environments

How can we treat harmful bacteria? Take two of these and call me in the morning…

Greek for Against Life
Do not kill viruses…only living organisms.
