1. Architect Planning & Design Template Use this PowerPoint to help design and create a basic layout of your structure. Your final project will be created as a large poster in class when you finish your design. To help you get started here are some things to keep in mind: *Keep an open mind-you never know where a good idea will come from. *Design your structure knowing that it has to reflect an aspect of our culture and society. *Look at the brainstorm you created to define the important characteristics of our society and culture. *Be realistic…no spaceships! *You will be asked to explain how your structure reflects our present-day culture/society. *Make sure you write notes about this during your design and final creation process. *Be creative and have fun! So, click on the next slide and start working. The first few slides have guides included to help you through the process. If you need, feel free to print this out when you are finished.

2. Culture Brainstorming sheet: Your task is to build a structure that reflects our present-day culture. What does that mean? What does our culture, society, look like? Complete this slide with your partner before you work on the design. The word important means the things that people do or talk about all of the time. *What is important to Americans? *What is important to the community where you live? * What is important to your school community? * What is important to your family? Use these ideas to build a structure that reflects a couple of these important characteristics.
