2 According to TechNet (2010), Digital media refers to audio, video and photo content (graphics) that has been encoded, in other words, digitally compressed. Encoding content involves converting audio and video input into a digital media file such as: Windows Media file. After digital media is encoded it can be easily manipulated, distributed and played by computers and is easily transmitted over the internet or computer networks.

3 Digital media is also for the convenience and entertainment of consumers. However, all that began to drastically change with the rise of computers and more importantly the internet.
