What we are working on… Health Assessment Survey Promotora training Health resource recruitment Community empowerment Spreading health awareness Building a new type of Physician-Patient relationship
4
What does this mean for the Latino and Medical Community? The people of Duroville can: realize their potential, educate us, and contribute to the development of their own community. Physicians can: realize a new level of cultural humility and address the social and environmental aspects involved in an individual’s health. The project can be applied to other underserved communities through its organization, mission and understanding.

What does this project mean for UCI PRIME-LC applicants? The Duroville project is still new and will require the insight and dedication from people who carry a high level of innovation, integrity, and humanity. It will allow students to get involved directly with the people and be advocates for their future patients on a deeper level. Students will learn the many ways to heal. Students can start NOW to be the change they wish to see in the world.
