1 Monday Sept. 16, 2013 Objective: I know that all societies have basic institutions in common even though the characteristics of these institutions may differ example government and educational rules. Focus: To discuss and apply democratic principles to developing classroom rules and solutions, ESL: Students will use reading, writing, discussion and visuals to obtain their goals. Agenda: Click In, get assigned seats, Copy the focus and esl statement WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO TREAT OTHERS WITH RESPECT How should we handle conflicts?

2 Tues. Sept. 17,2013 Come In, Take attendance, place remote in its numbered slot. Focus: I will discover what democracy means through visuals and discussions. I will understand that citizenship has certain responsibilities. Copy the focus statement it is in red. Answer the following question: Why do you think there are laws and rules in our country? (Min. 5 sentence paragraph) Define: these words: coast, island

Agenda Take attendance leave remote in its numbered pocket. Answer the following questions in full sentences: 1) What are 4 rights guaranteed in the Bill of Rights as amendments to our constitution? 2) Which ocean borders the United States on the West Coast? 3) What are the degrees of the Equator? A. Everyone will have a handout & a color box for every two people. we will view a power point and take notes and draw icons/pictures to remind us of the words and definitions for landforms.

Now go to pg. 32, and create a four square chart, With the teacher for simple explanations of the different types of economies. Follow their directions.
