Think Question: What would you consider to be your greatest Freedom that you would never want to give up? Why? Agenda: Finish group work from yesterday Review vocabulary and concepts for Mesopotamia and Egypt.

Example, read all the question and answers before making a choice… no you cant use this answer… think of three of your own.  Take e clicker quiz over Mesopotamia…..

4 Friday Oct 18,2013  6.22A I will use social studies terminology correctly.  6.21 student applies critical thinking skills to organize and use information.  Agenda  Click in for attendance, LEAVE REMOTE IN HOLDER.  Leave your notebooks in the cabinet….. We are testing today….  Sharpen your pencils for the test.  Put up privacy folders.. Ask each other questions for your quick review……  Take the test, show your work, recheck your test so the test and the bubble sheet agree with answers.  Reread test questions with your answer choices to see if it makes sense.  Bring test to the table, put the answer sheets face down all facing the same way, place tests in the white basket, name up all facing the same way.  Take a word find sheet and work quietly and independently on the assignment. No talking…Colored pencils for word find and coloring on the back table.  After the worksheet you can read or put your head down.

Why does the United States seemed so concerned about the Middle Eastern civil fighting that goes on?  Agenda: Listen to today's assignment for reading pg. 84, 85 and 86. Silent Reading by yourself. Also you should make vocabulary entries from the samples… for the following words today: 1) Mediterranean Sea, (2) polytheistic  (3) embalmed (4) pyramids (5) hieroglyphics.  Work in the assigned work station by Mrs. Chiong.  1)…… reading and vocabulary work purple  Station 2… Board matching center yellow  Station 3…. 6 Tuesday October 22, 2013 6.21 student applies critical thinking skills to organize and use information. 6.1 Students will identify contemporary societies and trace characteristic of various societies in regions that have had invasion, conquests and trade especially related to Egypt Agenda: Come in check in leave remotes in their holders. Get into your color groups from yesterday…. You will have 10 min at the current table and everyone will move after that for the next 20 min. And hopefully one more time before the bell rings today. Remember Mrs. Chiong DISMISSES the class, NOT the bell.

7 Wednesday October 23,2013  6.19 TSWBAT to identify and explain the significance of religious holidays in various contemporary societies.  6.4D identify and locate major physical and human geographic centers of places and regions.  Agenda:  Everyone has 20 minutes to complete the station they are working at. At that time I will collect: The current events articles and the Cornell notes and vocabulary work will be a daily grade… minor grade for completion of requested work from the teacher.  Map work will have the student become familiar with Egypt and its cities in order to have a base for religious conflicts in that area.

14 Friday November 1, 2013  compare characteristics of institutions in various contemporary societies.[16B]  Agenda: come in keep your remotes…..  Come in copy the objective into your notebooks, and create a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting the 3 major religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. You can use your books, but do this individually. You will have 15 minutes and that is all.  Take 10 question pop quiz  Discussion over the Venn Diagram
