What it is About  This poster is about The Nine Elements of Digital Citizenship.  It also has a lot of information about Cyber bullying.  There were changes made from the plan, first we wanted to make a poster only about cyber bullying but we changed our minds and added the nine elements to the poster and it became the main topic.

What we did  We spent a lot of time researching information for this poster. Each of us had a very important part to do.  To make this poster it took us a lesson and a half. On the first day creating the poster we had no poster paper so we cut out the information and we placed each one on a background paper.  The second day we had the poster paper, Al-Jazi had the tittle already made and we continued sticking in the information and pictures on the poster.

Information  On our poster we put the 9 elements of digital citizenship and a description of each element, we also put tips to stop cyber bulling and what is cyber bullying and we added lots of pictures.  Tips to Stop Cyber Bullying:  Tip 1: Don’t respond to the bullies because that is what they want, but if they see that you are not responding they will get bored and they might stop what they are doing.  Tip 2: If the problem is getting too big tell a trustworthy adult and they might help you find a way to solve this problem.  Tip 3: Don’t try to bully back. It might be the bully’s advantage and they can turn everything around and say that the victim is the bully.  Tip 4: If the bullying gets much bigger than you thought you should capture or save the evidence so they can be used at the time it is really needed.  Tip 5: Don’t get influenced, then you can become a bully too and do the same thing to other people and that makes a bigger effect on you and it then gets a bigger amount of people and children who are turning into bullies.

Information Continued…  What is Cyber Bullying:  Cyber bullying is when a person is threatened, humiliated or teased by another person on the internet or by text messaging, calling, online chatting, e-mailing or by websites like facebook, twitter, etc. Basically it is bullying that is done on electronic devices. Cyber bullying is a fast growing habit that experts believe is more harmful than any regular school bullying.

The 9 Elements of Digital Citizenship  Digital Access: All people should have equal access and this should not depend on whether a person is rich or poor.  Digital Commerce: Digital commerce is buying and selling items online. It allows people in remote areas and in different countries to put items online and without physically going to a shop. E.g ; www.amazon.com, www.ebay.com.www.amazon.comwww.ebay.com  Digital Communication: People use digital communication such as, email, SMS, BBM, Twitter, Facebook and instant messaging instead of writing letters. People have to be careful and must not send bad messages to other people.  Digital Literacy: Learners need to learn not just facts but also how to use new media such as video conferencing and also how to search for the right sort of information. People should not put fake information or facts on the Internet; therefore people will use it and get a different understanding of the topic.  Digital Etiquette: Often people feel that communicating online means that they do not have to be careful about their words. Too often people are rude in chats or on forums because they do not communicate face to face. Digital users need to be aware of that the rules of polite behavior also are the same digitally and in real life.  Digital Law: Digital Law is basically law online. Hacking, downloading illegally and sending viruses, stealing identities or sending spam and junk mail are all illegal. These are crimes just the same as stealing a car or kidnapping or murdering. People should not be sending or doing these types of things, if they do they are bad digital citizens.  Digital Rights & Responsibilities: Everyone online has the right to privacy and free speech. People have to be responsible with what they say online just as they have to be responsible when they write in a book or newspaper. They have to be responsible and not steal people’s personal information or pictures.  Digital Health & Wellness: Computer and Internet users have to know about the dangers to health of using computers. For example, people can get eye problems from looking at a screen to long, and some people become addicted to playing games online or social networking. This can cause physical or mental problem.  Digital Security: Just as we lock our doors at night, we should keep our computers safe from hackers by using anti- virus software and by not sharing personal information with strangers

Final Product  Our final product turned out to be fabulous. We were in a rush but we were all proud of what we created  The poster has every thing we learned and understood about digital citizenship.  We learned that we have to do lots of things to be a good digital citizens. We learned all about the 9 elements and we learned that everybody needs to become a good digital citizen so we can become more intelligent in life and in technology.
