 To support pupils from vulnerable groups by focussing on family support so that pupils are effectively challenged and supported to successfully make “better than expected” progress in their learning.

 The bid was for £28 000  Each school was given a guidance sheet on the possible financial commitments but it would be adapted as the project developed.

 Initial group planning meetings  Back to school discussions to clarify projects  Group meetings to discuss ideas and identify collaborations/ school to school support available  Discussion of how to measure impact/ development of questionnaires etc.  Back to school to start projects  Review meetings to share progress to date and impact identified (where appropriate)

 Alexandra Juniors – Parental engagement across a range of targeted groups within the school  Chatsworth – helping Polish parents support their children with Letters and Sounds  Spring Grove - helping Polish parents support their children with Letters and Sounds  Hounslow Town – Increasing engagement in reading in Year 5 (particularly ‘white other’ boys)

 Isleworth Town- Increasing confidence and attainment in maths for girls  Ivybridge – Developing relationships and increased engagement with the Afghan Community  Smallberry Green – Family Learning Project - English  Worple – Developing relationships and increased engagement with the Somali Community

 Some schools have already been able to demonstrate good or better progress for pupils engaged in their projects  The self-esteem and confidence of pupils engaged in projects has been increased  Parental feedback has been very positive where parents remained engaged throughout a project including an increase in their own knowledge and confidence  Staff confidence and understanding developed

 Parents have asked for similar projects to include more children  Some parents approached did not make the commitment to become or remain engaged in a project  Producing quantifiable data to measure impact was a challenge for several of the projects

 Cross school relationships have been established and used not just in support of these projects but as useful contacts and resources for other projects  Shared resourcing when requested  Knowledge of strengths and skills across the C8

 Projects to reach their conclusion and impact measured where this has not already happened  Debriefing meeting for all innovation projects  Schools to decide if they would like to run projects already run in the group and sharing of resources  Further collaboration between schools and the staff of the schools
