The Steering Committee should determine whether there is a need to add organizational entities (representatives), such as additional CRAs to the board, as well as the 6 (six) listed below; and determine action for the Ambassador Subcommittee to take. 6 Enhanced Communication Showcasing the SR7 Collaborative through special events & multiple workshops and teaming up with other groups that focus on building active participation by designees and community representatives. –Smart Growth Partnership & Broward American Planning Association –Sponsored transit-oriented and redevelopment workshops for corridor communities Provided technical assistance and information to on-going activities (various studies, etc.) along the Corridor Working with Florida Atlantic University by integrating SR7 (Corridor of Knowledge) segment master plans and studies into local curriculum. 7 Plan Implementation Promoted the work of the SR7 Collaborative and individual communities through contributing to national research publications, participation in local and national award programs and presentation opportunities. Integrated the Collaborative’s successes and the overall Collaborative framework in the South Florida’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and the Sustainable Communities Initiative (Seven50). Worked with the Miami-Dade MPO to facilitate redevelopment public workshops, identifying preliminary issues, concerns and policy recommendations to local leaders along the SR7 Corridor in Miami-Dade Agenda Item #6

10 SR7 in Broward County Re-visit the SR7 Corridor Master Plan to succinctly communicate the goals and intent of the SR7 Collaborative (& general public)… today! –Evaluate goals/Tasks/Visions that are currently completed, pending, and/or otherwise unnecessary (today’s market) to the implementation of the overall plan –Fund tasks that are currently unfunded and are critical to the completion of the plan –Re-focus certain tasks to better address municipal/segment specific needs Steering Committee members should decide, as deemed an objective by the SR7 Work Plan, how and if the SR7 Master Plan should be reviewed and updated or modified as appropriate, and that deliverables (including proposed implementation projects) be added or deleted as appropriate. 11 ULI Report, Shifting Suburbs: Reinventing Infrastructure for Compact Development Agenda Item #7 Publication exploring Infrastructure opportunities across the country and: ■ How infrastructure can be transformed and leveraged to support compact development ■ How local governments and regional coalitions can position themselves for compact growth ■What funding, financing, and regulatory sources and tools are being used or are needed.
