1 Located in northeastern Mexico. It borders the states of Tamaulipas to the north and east and San Luis Potosí to the south, and Coahuila to the west. To the north, Nuevo León accounts for a 15 kilometer (9 mi) stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border adjacent to the U.S. state of Texas. 64,210 km 2

2 Nuevo León has an extreme climate, and there is very little rainfall throughout the year. Nuevo León has many biomes, which is why it has different climates. Some areas in the mountains are very cold in winter and temperate in summer. Extreme high temperatures of 47 °C or more occur on the desert areas while winters are short and mild. 4 Nuevo León’s economy represents 11.4% of Mexico’s total gross domestic product or 105 billion USD, it also has a strong focus on export oriented manufacturing. The state government has been making efforts in attracting significant investments in aeronautics, biotechnology, mechatronics, information and communication technologies fields with the creation of the Research and Technology Innovation Park PIIT. Foreign direct investment in Nuevo León was 1,213.1 million USD for 2005.

6 Mexico is located at about 23° N and 102° W in the southern portion of North America. Almost all of Mexico lies in the North American Plate with small parts of the Baja California Peninsula on the Pacific and Cocos Plate. Mexico's total area is 1,972,550 km 2 making it the world´s 14 th largest country by total area, and includes approximately 6,000 km 2 of islands in the Pacific Ocean, Caribbean, gulf of Mexico and Gulf of California. Mexico is crossed from north to south by two mountain ranges known as Sierra Madre Oriental and Sierra Madre Occidental which are the extension of the Rocky Mountains from northern North America.

10 Mexico is ethnically diverse, and the constitution defines the country to be a multicultural nation. Mexican culture reflects the complexity of the country's history through the blending of pre- Hispanic civilizations and the culture of Spain. Mexican society enjoys a vast array of music genres, showing the diversity of Mexican culture. Traditional music includes Mariachi, Banda, Norteño, Ranchera and Corrido. Mexican cuisine is known for its intense and varied flavors, colorful decoration, and variety of spices
