EXPLANATION OF PRIORITIES NATURAL EVENTS POLICY Issue / Action: Committee to track the Natural Events Policy (NEP) that is proposed for revision to address issues such as PM-2.5, Ozone, & designations. Product / Outcome: Advocate state involvement in the NEP development process through an EPA-state working group. Identify issues associated with NEP and work toward common goals.

EXPLANATION OF PRIORITIES PM / OZONE NAAQS Issue / Action: Committee to track PM and ozone implementation process. Product / Outcome: Track development of the implementation guidance. Products / outcomes to be determined as necessary based upon future NAAQS issues.

EXPLANATION OF PRIORITIES REGIONAL HAZE PLANNING Issue / Action: Committee to track issues in consultation with Air Directors and WESTAR Visibility Coordinator. Provide a caucus for states to discuss issues and take actions. Product / Outcome: Products / outcomes to be determined as necessary in cooperation with WRAP, STAPPA, etc.

EXPLANATION OF PRIORITIES RURAL OZONE Issue / Action: Committee to determine whether ozone attainment is threatened in urban and rural areas of western states. Product / Outcome: Review WRAP modeling to evaluate the transport of ozone and ozone-forming emissions. Evaluate emerging emission sources; natural ozone events exclusions; and the interplay between rural and elevated urban levels.
