19.A relation is any set of ordered pairs. A function is a relation where NO x values are the same. To be a function, your graph must pass the vertical line test. In this problem, the relation is NOT a function because there are two ordered pairs with the same first number - 1.

43.As I look at the graph, ask yourself, does it pass the vertical line test? In this problem it does, so the ordered pairs DO represent a function. For each value of x (input), there is exactly one value of y (output).
