2. 17.4 External Noise Regulation Update
Revision of External Noise Regulation(By KME, 14th Feb, 2014)
- This revision purpose to minimize the noise damage caused by construction equipment
- Limit values is based on EU Directive 2000/14/EC, but modified.
Scope
- Excavators, Rollers, Loaders, Air Compressor
Exception
- The regulation does not cover the loaders* which are used for agricultural purpose.
*skid-steer loaders, track-type loaders

4. 17.4 External Noise Regulation Update
The Eco-Labelling Program (Voluntary certification)
- The Eco-Labelling Program aims at providing accurate environmental information to
consumers and to induce manufacturers to develop eco-friendly products by affixing
the Eco-Label on products causing relatively less pollution or using less resources in the
production.
- Since 2005, Construction machinery started to acquire the Eco-Label by Low noise
construction machinery certification.
Scope
- 21 machines are recognized(see appendix.)
Requirement
- Meet the noise limits(stage II) in EU Directive 2000/14/EC
Incentives
- Benefit for government procurement bids
- Purchase obligations of public authorities
- Support environmental labeling certification in overseas
(Japan, China, Thailand, New Zealand, etc)
