17 Hotels, Motels and Apartments, Lodging, Boarding, or Tenement Houses & Condominiums Lodging House – a building where persons are supplied with and charged for sleeping accommodations only Tenement House – a building or portion thereof which is leased or sold to and occupied as residence by 4 or more families doing their cooking within the premises but living independently of one another although having a common right in the use of halls, stairways, terraces, verandas, toilets, and baths.

18 Hotels, Motels and Apartments, Lodging, Boarding, or Tenement Houses & Condominiums Apartment House – a building containing a number of separate residential suites Condominium – a building with one or more storeys composed of multi- unit residential suites under joint ownership of occupants, each unit provided with complete sanitary facilities, utilities and other amenities

19 Hotels, Motels and Apartments, Lodging, Boarding, or Tenement Houses & Condominiums Sanitary permit Any extension or additional construction in and establishment shall require a sanitary permit. Adequate water supply, toilet and facilities Clean and sanitary establishments and premises at all times Periodic insect and vermin control measures Appropriate kennels or cages for animals, fowls and pets, separate from living quarters Employees with health certificates

20 Hotels, Motels and Apartments, Lodging, Boarding, or Tenement Houses & Condominiums Hotels and Motels – Proper storage, preparation and serving of food – Clean linen – bed sheets, pillow cases, towels, napkins – When rooms are vacated, toilets or baths must be sanitized. Clean and fresh linen must be provided before the room is rented for occupancy.

21 Hotels, Motels and Apartments, Lodging, Boarding, or Tenement Houses & Condominiums Condominium – Available bus and taxi transportation services – Near to place of work, schools, police stations, clinics – Available low-cost goods – Parking facilities and playgrounds for children – Facilities for refuse disposal and cleanliness of buildings – Efficient lifts

22 Port, Airport, Vessel and Aircraft Sanitation Potable drinking water and wholesome food supplied from sources approved by the Secretary or his duly authorized representative Proper storage and handling of drinking water and food to avoid contamination Local health authority – Shall conduct periodic inspections of equipment, installations and premises – Shall collect regularly samples of water and food for laboratory examination

23 Port, Airport, Vessel and Aircraft Sanitation Practicable organized medical and health services with adequate staff, equipment and facilities Practicable measures to keep port and airport installation rodent-free Free from mosquito vectors of yellow fever, malaria, and other epidemiologically significant diseases

24 Port, Airport, Vessel and Aircraft Sanitation Vessel Sanitation – Quarantine Regulations must be applied and enforced. Aircraft Sanitation – Requirements in the Guide to Hygiene and Sanitation in Aviation of WHO must be met.
