2 Wisconsin INTEROPERABILITY Initiative Seamless Public Safety Radio Communications Update  Round 6 Grant Application  Homeland Security: PSAP Radio Supporting MABAS (2009)  Funds are available to local governments, tribes or state agencies to purchase public safety answering point (dispatch center) radio equipment. Applications must be received through Egrants on or before March 31, 2011.  Contact: David Spenner 608-261-7535

3 Wisconsin INTEROPERABILITY Initiative Seamless Public Safety Radio Communications Technology Initiative Status WISCOM Statewide VHF Trunking System  Governance – SSMG chartered by State Council for long-term planning, sustainability, policies, etc.  Daily Project Management – OJA & State Patrol endorsed by Council and SSMG.  WISCOM components:  Core System  Items Critical to the Core System  High Priority Features  County Dispatch Access

11 Wisconsin INTEROPERABILITY Initiative Seamless Public Safety Radio Communications Advanced WISCOM Participation  For more robust, Level 3, 4 or 5 (daily user option)  Forthcoming grant opportunities  Any uncommitted WISCOM capacity is available for daily agency operations  Funding to existing concept paper applicants  Those not eligible for concept grants, system is still free till 2015.  Soon able to apply on line for user permissions.
