2 Watershed Management Bureau Current situation  About 45 full and part-time positions. 8 – 10 interns in the summer.  20+ programs  12-15 funding sources  ~ 12 year history with current organization  Declining budgets, challenges ahead  Collecting less data than in past  We do a pretty good job at what we do, but we can do better.

5 Watershed Management Bureau Purpose  To better organize the Watershed Management Bureau to gain efficiencies, better focus on mission critical tasks and to better utilized the skills and experience of WMB staff.  To be better placed to handle opportunities (eg. new grants) and challenges (eg. Federal budget cuts) without deterioration of core mission activities.  To better define the role of WMB within DES and relative to other organizations throughout the state.  To better communicate the information and products that WMB creates and houses.
