2 A great education starts with a Strong Foundation
Purpose The Carl H. Sundahl Elementary School Foundation (Foundation) is a nonprofit community organization created exclusively for educational purposes within the meaning of § 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and under the California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law. The Foundation shall solicit, receive, administer, and distribute funds for the promotion of academic excellence at Carl H. Sundahl Elementary School, Folsom, California.

4 Board Officers: Roles and Responsibilities
President: The President shall have general supervision of the affairs of the Foundation. The President shall preside at all meetings and shall serve as an ex-officio member of all committees. The President shall set the agenda for each Board Meeting and shall distribute it to all members prior to the scheduled meeting. The President shall be responsible for media relations, school relations, public visibility and shall be the primary spokesperson of the Foundation. To be considered as a candidate for Foundation President, the person must have served as an Officer of the Executive Committee. Vice President: In the absence of the President, the Vice President shall perform the duties of the President. The Vice President shall also serve as the Special Projects Coordinator and will oversee and advise all committees.

5 Board Officers cont’d. Secretary: The Secretary shall act as secretary of all meetings of the Board of Directors and shall be responsible for minutes of said meetings. The minutes shall include a record of issues discussed, motions, seconds, and voting results and shall be distributed to each Board Member within two (2) weeks of each meeting. The Secretary shall maintain current Board of Director and Committee rosters, including a record of elections, appointments and terms of office. Treasurer: The Treasurer shall act as the Chief Financial Officer of the Foundation and shall be responsible for the accounting of all monies of the Foundation including depositing and/or investing them in accordance with policy adopted by the Board of Directors.

6 Board Officers cont’d. Communications:
The Communications lead directly supports the president in leader level communication requests. They partner closely with all board members to create school-wide newsletters and communications and acts as the website owner to determine pertinent information for posting on the website to ensure transparency of foundation dealings. Creates all event communications (flyers, s, newsletters) Creates all event summary and post mortem wrap up.

7 Committee Leads Fundraising Committees: Four Fathers:
There shall be various fundraising committees established from time to time by the Board, each having the purpose of planning and conducting special events or fundraising drives. Dinner and Auction Jog-a-Thon Four Fathers: The Four Fathers will conduct fundraising apart from the Annual Auction. These funds will be used primarily to fund special projects apart from the general fund programming for academic and enrichment programs. Sponsored events may include, but are not limited to the sale of entertainment books, coupon collection, community garage sale, and penny drive. Dispersion of all funds raised will be determined by the Board.

Attends all event planning meetings in preparation for the event or activity Partners closely with Event planning lead and Communications lead Helps to secure other parent/community volunteers for fund raising events or activities
