Electron Microscopes  Electron microscopes use a beam of electrons, instead of light, to relay information about the specimen.  They magnify anywhere from 300,000x to 1,500,000x.  Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM)  Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)  New technology has led to the development of the Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) and the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) which allow scientists to see molecules within a cell!
