The Flapper Image was also made extremely popular through movies and celebrities of the time. The style followed French fashion, such as designs by Coco Chanel Flappers danced provocatively, drank alcohol, smoked long cigarettes, drove cars, and dated freely. They used hip flasks, false books, coconut shells, hot water bottles and garden hoses to transport illegal liquor People stored the contraband in prams with babies perched on top and in carpenter's aprons with big fat pockets.
